We created the Lead Local Academy to provide relevant and timely training for candidates and campaign teams running in rural counties in Georgia. Both in-person and on-line training is available and many programs are free thanks to the generosity of our donors.

About the Trainer: Maggie Chambers has mentored and trained dozens of candidates to run for office through her work as Executive Director of Emerge Georgia, with many going on to serve in local and state government. Maggie started her work in Georgia politics on Stacey Abrams’ 2018 gubernatorial campaign, and went on to serve as Communications Director for the Democratic Party of Georgia during Georgia’s historic 2020 election wins, as well as for the Senate Runoff Coordinated Campaign in 2021. Prior to her work in Georgia, Maggie worked for the Virginia Governor’s Office on education, public safety, and food policy.

About the trainer: Vinny Olsziewski has had a long and active career in Democratic politics in Georgia. His political consulting firm, Campaigns By Vincent, offers consulting on all aspects of campaigns, with a focus on campaign finance. Campaigns By Vincent has worked on campaigns at all level but specializes in state and local campaigns, often with first-time candidates running in red, rural counties.
